Our Story

Making Dreams a Tangible Reality

RNLST was established and launched by the current Gone Turaga Bale na Tui Cakau, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu for the purpose of fulfilling a lifelong vision of his, which is to; Empower the Vanua O Cakaudrove through Education.  This personal aspiration which has materialised into the establishment of RNLST aims to ensure and improve, though, financial assistance, the access to  higher quality education for children  from the Vanua o Cakaudrove, despite their economic background.

In his traditional capacity as the  Gone Turaga Bale na Tui Cakau, and  Paramount Chief of Cakaudrove, this pioneering venture for the Vanua is one that is aimed at recognising and nurturing the capabilities that lie within Cakaudrove’s younger generation, particularly motivated and capacity building driven young people  experiencing financial barriers  to tertiary education and skills development.

As one of the 14 provinces, Cakaudrove has proven to be one of Fijis most influential till to date, producing notable men and women who have been trailblazers in their respective fields of work, life and community. Subsequently RNLST aims to collaborate with these individuals in providing a mentoring platform  to contribute to the development of future leaders, visionaries, trailblazer in our Vanua, country and world.

RNLST in its endeavour to build, support and expand excellence and equity in access to tertiary education will provide financial assistance of FJD 1,000  to one student recipient (twice per calendar year) from each of the 15 Tikinas within the Yasana o Cakaudrove.
